"We were on the roof of America and all we could do was yell, I guess - across the night, eastward over the Plains, where somewhere an old man with white hair was probably walking toward us with the Word, and would arrive any minute and make us silent."
-Jack Kerouac
On the Road

Let's be honest: leadership is a crucible. Who will you be in the midst?

Journey with us to a different place:
where leadership is experienced and faith is expressed.
You'll never be the same.

THE LEADERSHIP CRUCIBLE

For two-and-a-half days you'll be immersed in actual leadership in the midst of a virtual-reality, simulated world. Not a walk in the park, you'll face staff crises, legal issues, financial problems, media complications, and personal challenges that are so similar to your daily life you will wonder if you fell through a rabbit hole to find yourself in a world parallel to your own. You'll be offered generative feedback about how you make decisions, interact with difficult people, build consensus, manage conflict, and respond to the demands of a tilting, dynamic changing world. It's a crucible that will invite you to real (and real-time) change and growth.

Why should you consider attending The Leadership Crucible?

  • Most leaders lack direct, personal feedback about their style of leading and relating from unbiasesd, supportive voices and perspectives. The chance to replay the "game film" in real time with neutral fellow-participants is a reflective opportunity leaders rarely, if ever, have.
  • Leadership patterns can't be changed without clarity on how they hinder your influence - in real time.
  • Though fictional, simulation is quite real; it allows the opportunity to try out new skills and invest in transformation without the same consequences you'd have at your own organization.
  • Excellent leadership material has been developed in concert with Dr. Dan B. Allender's book, Leading with a Limp, and Ron Carucci's, Leadership Divided. Their teaching will integrate directly into the immersion experience rather than waiting and hoping for a connection between theory and practice is bridged.
  • Those who have attended would say it changed everything about how they understand leadership - and themselves. Click here to read their letters to you!

To lead is to struggle; it's to experience heat, pressure, and often unpredictable, even painful circumstances. And those are what test our faith. Ultimately, it's in the crucible of leadership that our faith can and will be integrated into our every day life as a leader.

So why would you choose to enter our crucible? Because you know that one more conference offering tips, techniques, and expert advice on how to lead better won't truly change you, your reality or those with whom you lead and live. This event will.

"The Leadership Crucible will be the best leadership investment you have ever made in yourself." (Dan Allender, PhD, President of MHGS, therapist, and author)

"You simply couldn't walk away unchanged." (Ron Carucci, COO of MHGS, corporate consultant, and author)
